Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and physiological evaluations to inform individualized care plans
- Administer medications via injections, IV infusions, and other routes following strict aseptic techniques and medication protocols
- Manage airway support with ventilator management and oxygen therapy to ensure optimal respiratory function during overnight shifts
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization (urinary and vascular), and tube feeding with precision and adherence to safety standards
- Monitor patients for acute pain or infectious disease symptoms, providing timely interventions aligned with best practices in trauma medicine and critical care
- Document all patient interactions accurately using EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and coordination of services such as hospice & palliative medicine or behavioral health support
Experience
- Proven experience in hospital settings such as ICU (Intensive Care Unit), Level I or Level II trauma centers, or emergency rooms demonstrating proficiency in trauma medicine and emergency response
- Strong background in medical-surgical nursing with familiarity in ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing processes
- Prior work in long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or nursing homes with exposure to geriatrics, memory care, dementia care, and Alzheimer's care
- Hands-on experience with advanced clinical procedures including dialysis management, ostomy care, gastrostomy tube management, and neonatal ventilator support
- Skilled in working with diverse patient populations including pediatrics (pediatric ICU or neonatal ventilator), adults requiring acute pain management or occupational health services
- Familiarity with EMR systems such as Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for efficient documentation and patient record management
- Knowledge of infection control protocols, laboratory specimen collection/processing, phlebotomy techniques, and laboratory experience to support diagnostic evaluation processes
