Duties
- Feed, water, and monitor animals to maintain optimal health and comfort
- Clean enclosures, bedding, and common areas to uphold hygiene standards
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations or grooming procedures
- Handle animals safely during daily interactions, walks, or outdoor activities
- Support pet grooming, pet sitting, and basic training activities as needed
- Observe animal behavior for signs of illness or distress and report findings promptly
- Assist veterinary staff with animal handling, kennel management, and light cleaning tasks
Qualifications
- Prior veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is highly desirable
- Experience with pet grooming, pet sitting, or dog training is a plus
- Knowledge of animal handling techniques and animal restraint methods
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting safely when moving supplies or animals
- Outdoor work experience preferred for assisting with outdoor activities or exercise sessions
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and visitors
- Strong attention to cleanliness, safety protocols, and animal welfare standards
