We are seeking a qualified Line Cook who thrives in a fast paced environment, has a genuine desire for continuous improvement, and enjoys the challenge of advocating for positive and sustainable change for our food systems, coworkers, and guests.
A Line Cook at Restaurant Olivia is responsible for the consistent, high-quality execution of their assigned station during service. This role is the backbone of the kitchen and it demands focus, ownership, and a genuine commitment to care for our culture and style of service.
Responsibilities:
Prepare high-quality dishes according to our menu and sourcing standards
Assist in kitchen operations, including food prep, cooking, and plating
Transition smoothly between kitchen and dining room roles as needed when applicable
Deliver dishes to tables, explaining ingredients and preparation methods when applicable
Anticipate and respond to guest needs, ensuring a seamless dining experience when applicable
Collaborate with both kitchen and front-of-house teams to maintain excellent culinary and service standards
Dinner service only Tuesday-Saturday, full-time position consisting of four (4) eight to ten hour shifts per week. Some Sundays and Mondays availability may be necessary for special events.
Qualifications:
Culinary experience or formal training is required
Strong technical skills and a passion for sustainability
strong sense of urgency and an ability to communicate well with coworkers in high intensity environment
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively
Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends
