Retail Sales Associate / Cashier
We’re seeking a Retail Sales Associate/Cashier to join our team. This role focuses on providing excellent customer service at the point of sale while accurately handling transactions and supporting the overall store experience. A successful candidate needs to be engaging, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced retail environment.
Responsibilities
- Greeting and assisting customers with their needs
- Processing customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Handling cash, credit cards, mobile payments, and other forms of payment
- Balancing the cash register and ensuring accurate accounting at the start and end of shifts
- Handling returns, exchanges, and refunds according to store policy
- Assisting with customer complaints and resolving issues at the register
- Providing product information and recommendations when needed
- Maintaining a clean and organized checkout area and workspace
- Assisting with opening and closing procedures related to the cash office/register
- Monitoring for potential theft or discrepancies and following loss-prevention procedures
- Supporting basic store operations as needed while prioritizing cashier duties
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor
- Accurate cash-handling and basic math skills
- Ability to operate a point-of-sale (POS) system and process multiple payment types
- Attention to detail and ability to stay focused during busy periods
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills
- Previous cashier or retail experience preferred but not required

Pay: $12.00 - $15.00 per hour
