PRODUCTION MANAGER – ORLANDO, FL

The Ideal candidate will provide leadership, scheduling, direction, prioritization planning, and oversight for finished product with the goal of on-schedule delivery within the prescribed budget at the required level of quality and to uphold project requirements.
This Production Manager will support the projects, staff, and goals of ADKS in Orlando, Florida, by providing Production support to an extremely talented team that is known for crafting exceptional themed entertainment projects and productions. We are looking for someone who demonstrates strong leadership, is a solid manager of the production cycle, and has a keen understanding of people operations. Knowledge of Theater production, Theme Park experience, and/or museum exhibits are desired.
Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for all Florida production-related topics.

Reports directly to VP of Production.

Oversee and manage the departments that make up Florida production (Carpentry, Scenic Paint, Metal, Electrical, HPLO) to ensure project schedules, budgets, and quality requirements are being met.

Collaborative Responsibility: To work with Florida Scenic Manager, project managers, designers, and installers to complete projects assigned to the Orlando facility in a timely fashion to attain the best product at the designated profit.

Identify production efficiencies or other means & method s of cost savings throughout the design and production processes.

Provide weekly reports on Overall Shop Capacity and Production Percent Completion.

Advise the GM of Florida Operations of shop capacity issues.

Organize and conduct weekly production meetings with departmental foremen to maintain shop priorities and schedules.
-
Organize & support the expansion equipment, transportation, and storage needs of the Orlando Facility.
-
Coordinate with Creative and Production Design, review drawings prior to release for production, and provide guidance on all pre-production inputs and needs.

Review drawings and develop process documents to plan critical path movement of product through all production shops.
-
In conjunction with Creative and Technical Design, organize and conduct drawing reviews as they are released for fabrication with departmental foremen.

Plan and manage the use of shop space to facilitate product flow, and maintain element matrices to track product flow and completion in the shop.

Assist project managers with creating and maintaining production project schedules.

Attend weekly client meetings with project managers as needed.

Assist sales through attending client pre-bid meetings, supporting estimation efforts, and attending internal bid reviews as required.

Oversee floor operations to ensure the timely movement of product between departments.

In conjunction with project managers, organize and maintain load-out schedules with proposed inventories for each truck.

Manage the storage and maintenance of shop equipment.
-
In conjunction with the designers, identify and facilitate the ordering and timely procurement of all fabrication materials, parts, and long lead items.

Facilitate the management duties associated with production subcontracting.
-
Engage and disengage departmental staff as required.
-
Perform other tasks as assigned by the GM of Florida Operations.
Required skills and decision-making:

Computer proficiency – Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and Project.

Ability to read construction and assembly documents.
-
Provide the VP of Production with shop capacity reports.
-
Examine pre-release shop drawings and plans for compliance with established plans and budgets.
-
Review (in progress and final) product to confirm compliance with quality standards and design direction.
-
Approve final scenery for pack and ship.
-
Facilitate movement of materials between shops for efficiency and quality.
-
Maintain and implement processes and plans for efficient and high-quality execution of production work.
-
Monitor progress and process of ongoing production work.
-
Oversee and direct managers of Metal, Carpentry, FRP, HPLO, and CNC shops
-
Plan overall production strategy in coordination with production leads. This shall include an understanding of the supply chain, materials, and execution of methodology and resource planning, with a focus on product quality, schedule, and budget.

Support sales, estimation, and design with material selection as a pre-sale activity.
Additional Responsibilities:

Plan and prepare overall shop usage and movements of material and personnel with an eye towards preparation and efficiency.

Establish dates with the Technical Director for shop drawing release.
-
Approve (QC) materials for final shipping for assigned projects.
-
Schedule regular shop walks with Project Managers for assigned projects.
-
Collaborate with Project Managers and department managers and resolve product issues as revealed on shop walks.

Prioritize and track solutions and questions in coordination with Project Management.
-
Ensure review of approved shop drawings and project expectations for assigned projects with department managers.

Serve as primary liaison to production for Project Managers for assigned projects.
