Assistant Property Manager Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Assistant Property Manager to support the management of a growing multifamily and commercial real estate portfolio throughout the Chicagoland area. This role combines office administration, tenant relations, property inspections, vendor coordination, and field support. The ideal candidate is organized, professional, responsive, and comfortable working both in an office environment and in the field.
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily property management operations.
- Respond to tenant inquiries and maintenance requests.
- Coordinate work orders and communicate with maintenance personnel and contractors.
- Conduct property inspections and document property conditions.
- Assist with lease administration, renewals, notices, and tenant communications.
- Maintain tenant and property records.
- Coordinate move-ins and move-outs.
- Meet vendors, contractors, utility companies, inspectors, and service providers at properties to provide building access and oversee work being performed.
- Schedule and coordinate vendor appointments.
- Assist with rent collection and delinquency follow-up.
- Perform administrative tasks including filing, data entry, correspondence, and document preparation.
- Support special projects and portfolio-wide initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Professional demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and property management software such as Yardi or Appfolio is preferred.
- Prior property management, real estate, administrative, or customer service experience is preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to travel throughout the Chicagoland area to visit properties, attend meetings, conduct inspections, and meet vendors.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to walk properties, climb stairs, and perform site inspections as needed.
- Bilingual English/Mandarin or English/Spanish is preferred but not required.
