Culinary Center Assistant
Part Time
The Dorothy Lane Market Culinary Center offers a wide range of classes and private events at our Washington Square and Mason store locations. We are seeking enthusiastic, kitchen-savvy Culinary Assistants to help prep, support instructors, and deliver an exceptional guest experience. Shifts typically run from 3:30 PM to 9:30 PM and include prep, event execution, and cleanup. The ideal candidate works 1-2 events per week, and all team members must commit to a minimum of 3 events per month.
What You’ll Do
- Prep, shop for, and organize class/event materials.
- Cook, bake, and assist with culinary tasks.
- Support instructors during classes.
- Provide outstanding hospitality and customer service.
- Assist with post-event cleanup.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- A desire to make folks happy by providing Honestly Better® Food and Service.
- A willingness to learn about and taste great food.
- A willingness to practice the DLM Team Values: Be Honest, Safe, Helpful, and Hard-Working
- Effective verbal and written communication.
- Basic cooking and knife skills.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Must be 18 or older.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Lift up to 40lbs.
- Some weekend and holiday availability required.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen/classroom environment.
