Job Summary
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) working within skilled nursing facilities. In this vital role, you will support patients of all ages—ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics—by assisting with daily activities, implementing treatment plans, and collaborating closely with healthcare professionals. Duties
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to foster independence and confidence.
- Implement individualized treatment plans designed by licensed occupational therapists, ensuring therapeutic goals are met effectively.
- Support pediatric clients with developmental delays and neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder, through specialized occupational therapy techniques.
- Help patients navigate their environment safely by providing manual handling assistance and patient transport within the facility.
- Document care activities accurately in care records, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and ensuring seamless communication among team members.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—including physicians, physical therapists, speech-language pathologists, and caregivers—to optimize patient care strategies.
- Engage in inpatient and outpatient therapy sessions across skilled nursing facilities, clinics, and home health settings to deliver consistent, high-quality care.
Experience
- Prior experience working in skilled nursing facilities (SNF), inpatient units, outpatient clinics, or home health environments is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to assist with ADLs and implement treatment plans for diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with disabilities.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and medical imaging relevant to occupational therapy practices.
- Experience working with clients who have neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism or childhood developmental delays.
- Familiarity with care documentation standards and effective caregiver and client communication skills.
- Acute care experience is advantageous for adapting quickly to fast-paced healthcare settings.
- Strong manual handling skills combined with an understanding of occupational health principles contribute to safe patient interactions.

Pay: $1,650.00 - $1,750.00 per week
