Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Installer Technician, where you'll play a vital role in installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems across a variety of commercial and residential properties. As an integral part of our field service team, you'll ensure that heating, cooling, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical systems operate efficiently and reliably. Responsibilities
- Install new HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems following schematics and design specifications.
- Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment to optimize performance and extend system lifespan.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration issues using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and specialized testing equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty components in HVAC systems, including electrical diagnostics and equipment troubleshooting.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to ensure precise installation and repairs.
- Conduct system testing to verify proper operation after installation or repair; adjust controls for optimal performance.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining system functions, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols clearly to clients.
- Maintain detailed service records, logs of repairs performed, parts used, and system diagnostics for each job.
- Adhere to safety standards including EPA regulations for refrigerants and proper handling of ammonia refrigeration systems.
- Assist with property maintenance tasks related to HVAC systems when needed; support team members with welding or mechanical repairs as required.
Experience
- Proven construction experience with hands-on installation of mechanical systems in commercial or residential settings.
- Service technician experience working on HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration) systems.
- Strong mechanical knowledge coupled with familiarity in plumbing and electrical diagnostics.
- Experience reading schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design plans accurately.
- Skilled in using hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, welding equipment, and testing devices like ohmmeters.
- Knowledge of building automation systems (BAS) and electrical systems related to HVAC control panels.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex equipment issues efficiently; experience repairing boilers or ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Clean background check
- Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in appliance repair or property maintenance are advantageous.
- Mechanical or mechanic experience that supports comprehensive system repair capabilities is highly valued.
