Position Summary
We are a family-owned trucking company running a small fleet of semi trucks out of our own shop in Statesboro, GA. We are hiring an experienced diesel mechanic to lead our shop and manage a small team of junior mechanics. This is a salaried position with pay based on experience.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain a small fleet of semi trucks (engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, HVAC, drivetrain, suspension, DOT-related repairs)
- Perform preventive maintenance and keep trucks road-ready and DOT compliant
- Manage and direct 2–3 junior mechanics, including assigning work and reviewing quality
- Troubleshoot breakdowns and prioritize repairs to keep the fleet running
- Maintain accurate service and repair records
- Order and manage parts and shop inventory as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience as a diesel mechanic on heavy-duty/semi trucks
- Ability to lead and manage 2–3 junior mechanics
- Strong diagnostic skills across engine, electrical, and mechanical systems
- Own set of tools
- Valid driver's license (CDL a plus)
- Reliable and able to work independently
Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- Occasional weekend work as fleet needs require
Compensation
- Salaried position
- Pay based on experience and leadership background
- Paid time off after meeting eligibility requirements
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
