Are you passionate about helping individuals begin their recovery journey? We are seeking experienced Admissions Coordinators to join our growing behavioral health treatment team. We are hiring both Admissions Openers and Admissions Closers across multiple shifts.
This role is often the first point of contact for individuals and families seeking treatment. The ideal candidate is compassionate, organized, customer-service driven, and thrives in a fast-paced behavioral health environment.
Behavioral health experience is required for all candidates.
Shifts Available: 8:00am - 4:00pm, 4:00pm - 12:00pm
Position TypesAdmissions Opener
Admissions Openers are responsible for managing inbound inquiries, completing pre-screenings, gathering demographic and clinical information, verifying eligibility, and ensuring a seamless transition to the admissions team.
Admissions Closer
Admissions Closers guide prospective clients and their loved ones through the final stages of the admissions process, overcoming barriers to treatment while helping qualified individuals commit to care.
Previous behavioral health admissions experience is required for the Admissions Closer position.
ResponsibilitiesAdmissions Opener Responsibilities
- Answer inbound calls from prospective clients, families, referral sources, and healthcare professionals.
- Conduct initial telephone screenings and gather demographic, clinical, and insurance information.
- Assess treatment appropriateness using established admission criteria.
- Verify insurance benefits and communicate financial expectations when appropriate.
- Accurately document all interactions within the CRM and EMR.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate timely admission decisions.
- Schedule assessments and coordinate transportation when applicable.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards.
- Provide compassionate, empathetic customer service during every interaction.
Admissions Closer Responsibilities
- Build rapport with prospective clients and families while addressing concerns and barriers to treatment.
- Educate callers on treatment services, levels of care, and the admissions process.
- Guide qualified individuals toward making informed treatment decisions.
- Collaborate with clinical, utilization review, and business office teams to coordinate admissions.
- Complete admissions paperwork and ensure all required documentation is obtained.
- Maintain consistent follow-up with prospective clients and referral sources.
- Meet established admissions performance goals while maintaining exceptional patient care standards.
- Document all communications accurately and timely within company systems.
QualificationsRequired
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a behavioral health treatment setting.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and compassionate during crisis situations.
- Experience working with electronic medical records (EMR) and CRM systems.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer applications.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Additional Requirement for Admissions Closers
- Previous admissions experience within a behavioral health or substance use treatment center is required.
- Proven ability to convert qualified inquiries into admissions while maintaining an ethical, patient-centered approach.
Preferred
- Experience working in substance use disorder and/or primary mental health treatment.
- Knowledge of insurance verification, benefit eligibility, and levels of care.
- Familiarity with Kipu, Salesforce, CTM, or similar admissions platforms.
- Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
