Montgomery County Public Schools in Virginia, is now accepting applications for a Maintenance Technician position that is available in our division.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Maintenance Technician is required to perform a variety of tasks in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, grounds, facilities and equipment of all MCPS property within the county to maintain a condition of operating excellence. The Maintenance Technician works as part of a team to make repairs, internal and exterior in carpentry; door hardware and keying; installation, maintenance and repair for Mortise, deadbolts, cylinder locks, classroom locks, padlocks, file cabinet locks and student locks; plumbing, painting, masonry, grounds maintenance, HVAC, and within skill level, help all other maintenance personnel when needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:-
High school diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Ability to follow written and oral directions

Possess effective mechanical aptitude

Possess a working knowledge of mechanical and carpentry tools

Ability to perform basic math skills
-
Ability to maintain a safe work environment

Ability to work in adverse weather conditions

Ability to perform tasks requiring moderate physical strength on a continual basis

Ability to cooperate with other staff members

Must be dependable and punctual
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Career and Technology Education courses in carpentry, machining, and/or automotive repair
