Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dental Treatment Plan Coordinator to join our vibrant dental team. Duties
- Review and interpret dental treatment plans, ensuring clarity and accuracy for patients and staff.
- Coordinate with dental providers to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Epic, Meditech, eClinicalWorks, or Athenahealth to document treatment details meticulously.
- Assist patients with understanding their insurance benefits, including Medicare and health insurance policies, and facilitate billing processes like medical billing and coding (CPT, ICD-9, ICD-10).
- Verify insurance coverage and process medical collections efficiently while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Communicate effectively with patients via phone or in person regarding treatment options, scheduling appointments, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate documentation review processes to ensure all records meet clinical standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support front desk operations by handling patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and managing medical records filing.
- Utilize computer skills in Microsoft Office and various EMR/EHR systems to streamline administrative workflows.
- Uphold excellent customer service standards by providing a welcoming environment for all patients.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a dental clinic or medical office setting with strong knowledge of dental treatment planning and medical coding (ICD-9/10, CPT).
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or eClinicalWorks is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of health insurance processes including Medicare and health information management policies.
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations effectively.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation review and medical records management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) along with typing skills (including 10 key typing) for efficient data entry.
- Outstanding communication skills—both verbal and written—and phone etiquette to ensure positive patient interactions.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, and medical terminology is essential.
- Previous experience with medical billing, care plans development, or hospital experience is advantageous.
- Demonstrated clerical experience including filing, medical receptionist duties, and front desk support enhances your candidacy.
