Overview
The Endoscopy Technician plays a crucial role in the healthcare team, assisting in the preparation and performance of endoscopic procedures. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong understanding of medical practices and patient care. The Endoscopy Technician will work closely with physicians and nursing staff to ensure that all procedures are conducted safely and effectively.
Duties
- Prepare and maintain endoscopic equipment and instruments, ensuring they are sterile and functioning properly.
- Assist physicians during endoscopic procedures by providing necessary instruments and support.
- Monitor patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure, providing reassurance as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of procedures performed, including patient information and equipment used.
- Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques to prevent infection.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations as needed, utilizing medical imaging techniques.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to improve patient care practices and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique to ensure patient safety during procedures.
- Experience or training in diagnostic evaluation and medical imaging is preferred.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Previous experience as an Endoscopy Technician or in a related field is an advantage but not required.
