Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain, organize, and catalog the law library collection, including books, legal materials, serials, and audiovisual resources.
- Assist inmates/detainees in locating, requesting, and using legal and educational materials.
- Supervise inmates/detainees during library access to ensure safety, security, and compliance with facility rules.
- Enforce library policies, procedures, and schedules in accordance with facility guidelines.
- Coordinate and support library programs and services.
- Evaluate requests and select appropriate materials based on legal needs and individual considerations.
- Acquire and maintain relevant library resources to ensure accessibility and availability.
- Provide general guidance on library materials and resources.
- Provide assistive resources for disabled or bedridden inmates and promote appropriate behavior through supervision and intervention.
- Maintain accountability of inmates/detainees and library property, and perform other duties as assigned.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress correctional environment.
- Working knowledge of correctional policies and procedures, with the ability to follow and enforce them.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of six (6) months related experience required; two (2) years preferred.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Continuous sitting up to 2 hours per shift
- Ability to work continuously on a telephone/computer/scanner/fax/copier or other office equipment for up to 2 hours or more per shift with scheduled breaks
- Frequent periods of walking and/or standing
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 20 lbs
- Frequent grasping, reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting
Pay Rate: $20.71
