Required qualifications:
- At least five years of progressively responsible experience in financial management or accounting.
- A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, public administration, or a related field - or equivalent professional experience in municipal of private-sector finance.
- Advanced proficiency with municipal accounting systems and financial analysis, and the adaptability to implement new tools.
- Familiarity with Vermont municipal finance, including the distinct roles of the Finance Director and the Town Treasurer.
- Advanced communication skills.
Preferred qualifications:
- Direct NEMRC accounting experience.
- Fluent in governmental and enterprise (proprietary) fund accounting and strong command of GAAP/GASB as applied to Vermont municipalities.
- Vermont municipal finance experience, includin gVLCT resources, VMERS reporting, and Vermont tax administration.
- Capital planning and infrastructure financing experience.
- Grant management experience.
- A CPA, CPFO certification, or graduate work in public finance.
Compensation:
- $77,500 to $95,000 salary
