Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented 2nd Shift Machine Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating a variety of machinery and equipment to produce high-quality components efficiently and safely. Your expertise in machine operation, and mechanical systems will contribute directly to our production goals. Duties
- Set up and operate foam slitting machinery according to production schedules and work orders.
- Measure and verify foam dimensions to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to maintain quality standards.
- Inspect finished products for defects, accuracy, and consistency.
- Record production data, material usage, and quality checks.
- Load, unload, and move foam materials safely using appropriate equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S and safety standards.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues to maintenance personnel.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality requirements.
- Assist with inventory counts and material handling as needed.
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to meet production goals.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing, converting, foam processing, or machine operation experience preferred.
- Ability to read work orders, measurements, and production documents.
- Basic math skills, including the use of rulers, tape measures, and calculators.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during the shift.
- Ability to frequently bend, reach, twist, and lift materials.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly, with heavier lifting performed as a team or with equipment assistance.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery, noise, and varying temperatures.
Prior warehouse or manufacturing experience is highly desirable; familiarity with packaging and assembly line operations is beneficial.
