The Waste Water Treatment Technician oversees, operates and maintains a complex industrial wastewater pretreatment system that contains a variety of wastewater treatment processes and auxiliary equipment for the processing and handling of industrial wastewater and generated industrial byproducts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operate and monitor all wastewater pretreatment plant equipment and make necessary adjustments based on findings.

Take periodic samples and perform and record the results of various laboratory tests to assess and monitor the condition of the system and determine optimal chemical and biological treatment.

Maintain the efficiency of plant and laboratory operations, including maintenance of equipment pumps, filters, and machinery, testing, quality control and record keeping procedures.

Read and record meter and gauge readings.

Maintain plant records, including operations logs, daily diaries, computer data entry and chemical inventories.

In accordance with the Wastewater Discharge Permit, collect and submit all required effluent sampled to a certified laboratory.

Ensure timely reporting to local authorities and facility management if an upset or exceedance occurs.

Performs ground maintenance and housekeeping duties as needed.

Process quality control requirements and remedial measures in dealing with process malfunctions and emergencies.
Education and Experience:
-
High School Diploma or GED.
-
Two to five years working with municipal and/or industrial wastewater (preferred).

Valid Wastewater Certification is a plus

Valid Motor Vehicle Operators License

PPE will be provided and must be worn when exposed to hazardous conditions including chemicals, airborne particles, and mechanical risks.

NOTE: This role will require extended hours based on production needs, including work to be performed after regular business hours and on weekends.
