Job Description: Apartment Maintenance Technician
Location: Stillwater, OK
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the physical upkeep, repair, and maintenance of a multifamily apartment community. This role involves performing routine and emergency maintenance, preparing apartments for new residents, and working closely with the onsite management team to deliver a high-quality living experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete work orders and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Perform general maintenance including, but not limited to, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair.
- Prepare vacant units for move-in by cleaning, repairing, and ensuring all items are in good working order.
- Maintain common areas and amenities, including lighting, doors, locks, and safety equipment.
- Assist with preventive maintenance programs for building systems and equipment.
- Support groundskeeping and seasonal property needs, such as snow/ice removal or pool maintenance when required.
- Maintain accurate records of work completed and communicate effectively with residents and management.
- Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours emergencies.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and property policies.
Qualifications
- Previous maintenance or building repair experience required; apartment/community maintenance preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and appliance repair.
- HVAC certification and experience preferred (EPA Universal or Type II/III).
- Ability to safely operate tools and maintenance equipment.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks daily.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Pay Range: $18.00 – $22.00 per hour (based on experience and certifications).
- Full-time position with regular weekday hours; participation in an on-call rotation required.
