Member Duties : A VISTA Grief Support Development Coordinator indirectly serves Skagit families by building capacity for Rooted: Grieving & Growing Together, a peer grief program for youth 6-18. The goal is to ensure conditions that lift youth out of poverty and buffer economic hardships after a family member's death and further develop the infrastructure required for program operations. During their term, this VISTA will: 1. Design systems & calendars for volunteer-led programming, including volunteer training schedules & tracking 2. Identify and provide information on best-practices to the volunteer-led Advisory Board to expand services 3. Seek resources, including grants and creating templates for materials that encourage donations/sponsorships 4. Strengthen strategic relationships w/ schools and other grief organizations by developing referral systems and 5. Enhance sustainability with strategies and toolkits for outreach/education that can be used beyond their service term.
