We are looking for a dependable, mechanically inclined Furnace Operator to join our manufacturing team in Bethlehem, PA.
This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with industrial equipment, troubleshooting problems, and being part of the production process. The ideal candidate takes pride in doing quality work, values safety, and is comfortable both operating equipment and working alongside the production team.
Previous furnace, kiln, manufacturing, or industrial experience is preferred, but we also value candidates with strong mechanical ability, basic electrical knowledge, and a willingness to learn.
What You'll Do
- Operate and monitor kiln-type furnace equipment to maintain safe, efficient production and consistent product quality.
- Monitor finished products and perform quality inspections to ensure specifications are met.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and assist with troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical issues.
- Work hands-on on the production floor alongside other team members.
- Supervise a small shift team of approximately 1–5 employees, depending on the shift.
- Safely operate a forklift to load and unload dry van trailers.
- Operate shrink-wrap and palletizing equipment.
- Keep the production floor organized, clean, and safe.
- Complete required production and shift paperwork accurately.
- Use basic math for measurements, production calculations, and related tasks.
- Follow company safety procedures and help maintain a safe working environment.
What We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who is:
- Mechanically inclined; basic electrical knowledge is a plus.
- Dependable and comfortable working in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Willing to work 2nd or 3rd shift when needed.
- Able to safely climb ladders and lift bags weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable operating or learning to operate forklifts and production equipment.
- Able to use basic math confidently.
- Detail-oriented and committed to producing quality work.
- A strong problem-solver who can troubleshoot issues and think on their feet.
- Able to communicate well and work effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable taking the lead when supervising a small production crew.
