Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated Director of Education to join the leadership team at their premier childcare center on the east side of Manhattan, NY. The ideal candidate must have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills (verbal and written), a genuine love for children, and a strong commitment to education.
- This is a Direct Hire position with the school
- Monday-Friday; year-round employment
Salary
- $110,000 – $140,000/year pending education, certifications, and professional Early Childhood Education experience
- Employees will be eligible for annual performance-based pay increases

Responsibilities
- Oversee all operations of the school, specifically focusing on educational programming, special events and activities, managing budget/finances, relationship building, quality assurance related to health & safety, and faculty onboarding, training & development
- Use a growth mindset to train, coach, and develop the school for the future
- Develop strong relationships with our families
- Comply with state childcare licensing regulations
- Project a positive and upbeat attitude while working in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to serve in various roles as needed
- Ability to maintain accurate and up to date records
Qualifications
- REQUIRED Education: Bachelor's Degree (Master’s preferred) in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or a related field AND NYS Teaching certification in Early Childhood Education, Childhood Education, or Special Education (Birth-2nd or 1st-6th)
- REQUIRED Leadership Experience: At least 1-year of continuous experience as a Director in a licensed childcare center or preschool with at least 100 enrolled students and at least 20 employees
- REQUIRED Teaching Experience: At least 3 years of Lead Early Childhood Education (birth to 5-years-old) teaching experience
- Must be currently residing in New York
- Strong knowledge of child development, early learning best practices, team leadership, and professional development/coaching
- Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
- A genuine love for children and commitment to high-quality education
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations – for Infant and Young Toddler Teachers, must be able to properly lift infants into and out of a crib
- Must meet background check eligibility
