OPERATIONS MANAGER

A growing plastics manufacturer is seeking an Operations Manager to help lead a manufacturing operation through a significant expansion and growth phase.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys building teams, improving performance, developing people, and creating operational excellence within a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
The operation is entering a critical stage of growth and requires a hands-on leader capable of balancing daily execution with long-term operational development. This individual will maintain a strong presence on the production floor, working closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams to establish performance standards, solve problems, and drive results.

The successful candidate will play a key role in building operational discipline, improving performance, developing teams, and creating a culture focused on accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
- Lead daily manufacturing operations to achieve safety, quality, service, and cost objectives
- Drive operational excellence across production, maintenance, and quality functions
- Develop and execute short- and long-term operating strategies
- Establish performance standards and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Partner with cross-functional teams to improve productivity, efficiency, and product quality
- Analyze production and operational data to identify trends and resolve performance gaps
- Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
- Optimize staffing, training, and workforce development initiatives
- Support inventory management, operational planning, and resource utilization
- Support capital projects, equipment upgrades, and process improvement initiatives
- Reinforce a strong safety-first culture and regulatory compliance
- Develop supervisors and frontline leaders while building a high-performance manufacturing culture
THE IDEAL BACKGROUND
- Bachelor's degree required; Engineering or technical discipline preferred
- 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a production environment
- Experience within plastics manufacturing, extrusion, building products, or other continuous-process manufacturing environments
- Proven ability to lead teams and improve plant performance
- Strong operational, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies
- Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
- Strong mechanical and technical aptitude
- Ability to effectively partner with maintenance, engineering, quality, and production teams
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of an organization
- Hands-on leadership style with a strong floor presence
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced growth environment
