Job Summary
Under limited supervision, the Credentialing Supervisor oversees system-wide credentialing and privileging operations across all Vandalia Health North hospitals (7–9 facilities). This role supervises a team of Credentialing Specialists, ensuring that credentialing, recredentialing, and privileging functions are timely , accurate , and compliant with all regulatory and accreditation standards. The Supervisor partners with the Senior Director of Medical Affairs, hospital leadership, and medical staff committees to maintain operational excellence, data integrity, and continuous improvement within the Medical Staff Office.
The Credentialing Supervisor serves as the primary interface with hospital and system business owners for credentialing, privileging, and compliance-related initiatives. This position also functions as the MD-Staff super-user for Vandalia Health North, supporting system configuration, troubleshooting, training, and reporting. The Supervisor leads all internal and external audits, ensuring full compliance with DNV, TJC, NCQA, and CMS standards, including coordination of document preparation, submission, and follow-up.
Responsibilities
Oversees the initial appointment and reappointment processes, including verification, file preparation, and board readiness.
Leads all internal and external credentialing audits, ensuring compliance with DNV, TJC, NCQA, and CMS standards.
Serves as the primary point of contact for system and hospital business owners regarding credentialing and privileging processes.
Functions as MD-Staff super- user: manages configurations, ensures data integrity, performs troubleshooting, and trains staff.
Develops and maintains departmental policies, workflows, and process improvement initiatives.
Collaborates with Medical Staff leadership, department chairs, and hospital CAOs to ensure credentialing alignment and consistency.
Generates and analyzes reports to monitor performance metrics and turnaround times.
Provides coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations for credentialing staff.
Represents the Medical Staff Office in system-level initiatives and cross-functional projects.
