Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care to dogs, including feeding, walking, administering medication if needed, and engaging in playtime to promote mental and physical well-being
- Maintain a clean and safe environment within the pet’s living space
- Monitor pet behavior closely, recognizing signs of distress or illness, and communicate any concerns promptly to pet owners or veterinary professionals
- Manage household duties such as collecting mail, watering plants, and ensuring the home remains secure during your stay
- Follow specific instructions from pet parents related to each pet’s needs, including training routines or special dietary requirements
- Demonstrate excellent customer service by providing regular updates to pet owners about their pets’ well-being
Experience
- Prior experience in dog handling, pet sitting, or animal care roles such as veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dog walking techniques
- Background in veterinary experience or veterinary technician work that supports understanding of pet health needs big plus
- Strong animal handling skills combined with excellent communication abilities to reassure pets and owners alike
- Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate care in diverse settings while maintaining professionalism and reliability
