Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Perform pharmaceutical calculations to ensure correct dosages and medication quantities.
- Enter prescription data into pharmacy software systems (PrimeRX) with precision, maintaining meticulous records for each patient.
- Assist with medication inventory management, including stock replenishment and expiration date monitoring.
- Provide excellent patient service by answering questions, explaining medication instructions, and supporting medication administration processes.
- Ensure compliance with all pharmaceutical regulatory standards, including drug regulation laws and state and federal pharmacy laws.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times while handling sensitive health information and adhering to HIPAA guidelines.
- Support community pharmacy operations by managing intake, processing prescriptions, and assisting with drug regulation documentation.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Pharmacy Technician is highly preferred, especially in Retail Pharmacy.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pharmaceutical calculations, medical terminology, aseptic technique, and pharmacological medical terminology.
- Experience with pharmacy software systems (Preferably PrimeRx, BestRX) for data entry and medication management is essential.
- Strong understanding of state healthcare regulations, drug regulation laws, and community pharmacy operations.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on patient care and communication.
- Ability to perform pharmaceutical compounding accurately in an aseptic environment while maintaining strict sterile techniques.
- Knowledge of hospital or community pharmacy workflows, including medication administration processes in acute care settings.
