Job Summary
After/Before hour Deliveries. Need driver who is willing to drive up to 6hrs a day, and min of 2 hrs a day. Deliveries will need to be made after 5pm or Early morning, before 7am. Flexible on schedule, driver dependent. Delivery drivers make local-area deliveries and pick-ups to/from customers and suppliers. Drivers complete job duties by preparing, loading, unloading, operating and cleaning a truck; maintaining records; and helping to develop sales.
Responsibilities
- Legally operate a motor vehicle and maintain a driving record that meets company standards.
- Load all order fulfillment materials onto truck for delivery and unload at delivery.
- Deliver/pick up merchandise to/from customers and suppliers promptly, efficiently, and in a professional manner.
- Perform daily inspection and maintenance on company vehicle.
- Communicate any vehicle mechanical problems to direct supervisor.
Skills
- Proven warehouse experience combined with commercial driving expertise
- Experience operating box trucks, manual transmission vehicles, and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks
- Strong knowledge of delivery driving procedures, route planning, and adhering to traffic regulations
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor during interactions with clients
- Ability to lift heavy items safely using proper lifting techniques and manual handling practices
- Familiarity with DOT regulations related to weight handling, hours of service, and safety standards
- Competence in using mobile devices for navigation, record keeping, and communication during deliveries
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Warehouse environment and outdoor conditions including sometimes extreme hot/cold temperatures. Deliveries in all weather conditions including during extreme hot/cold, rain and other seasonal conditions.
