The intern will support MHL's health insurance enrollment and outreach efforts. The internship will include work related to the One Big Beautiful Bill (OB3) policy changes and their impact on health care coverage for Boston residents.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Research and analyzing data of best health literacy practices
- Reviewing existing health literacy materials that have been created by MHL, providing feedback, translating, and editing documents
- Creating new health literacy workshops, social media posts, and documents geared towards our target audience (teens, seniors, adults, ESL)
- Facilitating workshops throughout the city
- Assist in building new partnerships that will allow us to connect with hard-to-reach populations
- Creating assessment tools for our workshops
- Participating in training, outreach efforts and information sessions
- Research OB3 health policy changes and develop educational materials for residents regarding impacts to health coverage and access to services
- Create plain-language outreach materials and presentations to help residents understand upcoming changes to MassHealth and Health Connector plans
- Support MHL staff with case management efforts
- Update HelpSteps tool to better improve resident experience navigating the platform
