Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and hands-on Kitchen Manager to lead our culinary operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and hospitality management and be committed to delivering exceptional food quality, operational excellence, and team leadership.
The primary responsibility of this position is to lead the kitchen team by ensuring efficient operations, maintaining the highest standards of food quality and safety, controlling costs, and developing a high-performing back-of-house staff. While the focus of this role is the kitchen, the Kitchen Manager is also expected to run restaurant shifts as needed, partnering with the front-of-house team to support service execution, maintain a positive guest experience, and ensure smooth overall restaurant operations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead all daily back-of-house operations, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and kitchen execution.
- Recruit, train, coach, and develop kitchen team members while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure all food quality, recipe, portioning, presentation, and sanitation standards are consistently achieved.
- Oversee inventory management, ordering, receiving, and product rotation while minimizing waste and controlling food costs.
- Maintain compliance with all health, food safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Manage kitchen labor to achieve productivity goals while maintaining operational excellence.
- Monitor equipment and facility needs to ensure a safe and efficient working environment.
- Run restaurant shifts as assigned, providing leadership and operational support throughout the restaurant.
- Assist the front-of-house team during peak business periods to ensure excellent service, timely food delivery, and a positive guest experience.
- Collaborate with the General Manager and management team to achieve financial, operational, and guest satisfaction goals.
- Monitor key performance indicators and implement action plans to improve operational performance.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience leading kitchen operations in a full-service restaurant, fine dining, catering, or high-volume food service environment.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, sanitation, inventory management, labor management, and cost controls.
- Demonstrated ability to coach, motivate, and develop high-performing kitchen teams.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Experience running restaurant shifts and working collaboratively with front-of-house leadership.
- Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
