Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Saw Operator to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating various cutting machines and tools to accurately cut, shape, and prepare materials such as sheet metal, tubing, and other raw components. Your expertise will ensure precision fabrication that meets quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Duties
- Operate a variety of cutting equipment including CNC laser cutters, plasma cutters, and stamping presses to produce precise parts according to specifications.
- Set up and calibrate machinery such as CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, press brakes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) tools for optimal performance.
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery and tools, including hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
- Conduct quality inspections using measurement tools like calipers and micrometers to verify dimensions and tolerances meet standards.
- Utilize forklifts and cranes safely for material handling and loading/unloading raw materials or finished products.
- Collaborate with team members on fabrication tasks such as welding, assembly, and tooling adjustments to meet production deadlines.
Skills
- Proficiency in operating CNC laser cutting machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, stamping presses, and other machining equipment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to manufacturing processes, tooling setups, and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and understand technical drawings with GD&T annotations.
- Experience with welding techniques and sheet metal fabrication is highly desirable.
- Skilled in using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection.
- Knowledge of safety procedures involving forklifts, cranes, press brakes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM).
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and troubleshooting machine setups.
