Waterjet Operator
Friday Is Your Choice.
At Lindquist Machine Company, we run a true 4-day work week. 4×10 shifts, Monday through Thursday. No mandatory overtime. No weekend demands. Take Fridays off or come in and work ahead. That's just how we operate.
It's one reason skilled tradespeople come here and stay. LMC has 85% retention and careers that span decades, not seasons. If you're a problem solver who takes pride in precision work and wants a shop that respects your time outside of it, keep reading.
What Makes LMC Different
Across Northeast Wisconsin, shops compete with overtime promises, forced weekends, and micromanagement. LMC takes a different approach.
Here, operators own their work. You're trusted to make decisions on the floor, set up your machine, and hold yourself accountable for quality — not managed by someone looking over your shoulder. The projects are complex (nuclear-grade components, high-speed food packaging systems, life-saving medical equipment), the team is tight-knit, and the work leaves the floor ready to run in the field.
This isn't a production job. It's precision work on machines that matter.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll own your waterjet from setup to shutdown, running production cuts, ensuring every part meets spec, and keeping the machine dialed in.
· Set up and operate waterjet cutting equipment to produce precision parts from blueprints and work orders
· Load, position, and secure materials; monitor cutting parameters and adjust as needed
· Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring tools
· Perform value-added operations including drilling, tapping, deburring, and polishing
· Handle routine maintenance: replace cutting heads, nozzles, and abrasive media; perform pump repairs
· Troubleshoot machine issues and escalate major problems to your supervisor
· Maintain accurate production records and manage abrasive/consumable inventory
· Operate a forklift to move material as needed
