Morris Black & Sons, Inc. is a long-established woodworking and casework manufacturer located in Allentown, PA. Founded in 1908, we specialize in commercial casework, architectural millwork, and custom residential cabinetry.
We are seeking a Microvellum Draftsperson to support our Casework Division by producing accurate, professional submittal drawings from architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents.
This role is ideal for someone with strong drafting ability, attention to detail, and an interest in cabinet construction, casework, and manufacturing.
Position Summary
The Microvellum Draftsperson is responsible for creating submittal drawings for commercial casework, architectural millwork, and cabinetry projects using Microvellum and AutoCAD.
This role focuses primarily on taking architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements and turning them into clear, accurate submittal drawings for customer, GC, architect, and owner approval.
The Draftsperson will work closely with Project Managers and Engineers to ensure drawings are complete, accurate, and aligned with project scope and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare submittal drawings from architectural drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- Draft commercial casework, millwork, and cabinetry layouts using Microvellum and AutoCAD.
- Review project scope, plans, elevations, sections, details, and related documents for drafting requirements.
- Coordinate with Project Managers and Engineers to clarify project details, scope, and drawing expectations.
- Revise submittal drawings based on customer, GC, architect, or internal feedback.
- Maintain drawing accuracy, consistency, and clean presentation standards.
- Support timely submittal turnaround to help maintain project schedules.
- Organize and maintain drawing files, revisions, and related documentation.
- Communicate questions, conflicts, or missing information proactively.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support Engineering and Project Management needs.
Desired Experience
- Experience with Microvellum is strongly preferred.
- Experience with AutoCAD required.
- Experience drafting commercial casework, cabinetry, millwork, or related construction drawings is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specifications.
- Strong attention to detail and drawing accuracy.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple drafting tasks and deadlines.
- Willingness to adapt, learn and grow.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
