Quality & Service Manager
Position Summary
The Quality & Service Manager ensures product quality across the entire lifecycle — from manufacturing through field performance — while building a culture of quality ownership across the plant and supporting customers through technical service.
Primary Responsibilities
Quality & Testing
· Oversee internal product testing programs
· Develop and maintain quality procedures, inspection standards, and acceptance criteria
· Conduct root cause analysis on quality issues and implement corrective actions
· Manage relationships with third-party testing labs and certification bodies
Field Service & Warranty
· Coordinate field service visits and warranty claim investigations
· Manage technician schedules and assignments for customer issues
· Document and track warranty claims, failure patterns, and trends
· Communicate findings to engineering and manufacturing teams to drive product improvements
Production Training
· Design and implement a formal quality training program for production associates
· Partner with production supervisors and team leads to support adoption and reinforcement on the floor
· Establish training content, delivery methods, and competency benchmarks
· Maintain and update the program as procedures and standards evolve
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Experience
- 10+ years of progressive quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- 5+ years of supervisory or management experience.
- Strong knowledge of quality systems, statistical analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective action methodologies.
Skills & Competencies
- Excellent leadership and team development skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and customer relationship management skills.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification required.
- Experience with quality management systems such as ISO 9001.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality reporting software.
- Ability to travel periodically to customer locations and manufacturing facilities.
- Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Occasional travel to customer locations and job sites.
- Ability to inspect products and manufacturing processes on the production floor.
