Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Carpenter to be hands on and coordinate construction projects, ensuring that all aspects of building from framing to finish, and related construction activities are executed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. As a key leader on our team, you will manage daily operations on-site, supervise skilled tradespeople, and ensure projects adhere to blueprints, schematics, and safety protocols. Your expertise in construction management and hands-on skills will drive project success from start to finish, inspiring teams and maintaining quality workmanship throughout every phase of construction.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate all phases of construction projects from framing to finish.
- Supervise and mentor crew members in the proper use of hand tools, power tools, heavy equipment operation, and safety procedures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to ensure accurate execution of framing carpentry, metal stud framing, rebar installation, and other structural components.
- Manage daily site activities including heavy lifting, framing carpentry, trim carpentry, drywall installation, plastering, and roofing and siding tasks.
- Complete daily logs, manage punch lists, and communicate change orders.
- Communicate daily with clients regarding project progress, questions, and change orders. Relay all information to project manager(s).
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with project managers to meet deadlines, stay within budget parameters, and resolve on-site issues promptly.
Qualifications
- A valid US Driving License.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and understanding schematics for various construction disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively on construction sites.
- Knowledgeable in the use of hand tools and power tools for framing carpentry, woodworking, trim carpentry, or related trades.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to supervise diverse teams of skilled tradespeople.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on safety compliance and quality control.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (> 50 lbs) and work at heights or in confined spaces as required. Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour
