Hiring: IMS/IDMS Specialist – Automotive Domain
Location: Dearborn, MI (Day 1 Onsite)
Employment Type: Contract
We are looking for experienced Mainframe Developers with strong expertise in IMS (DB/TM) and IDMS for development and maintenance projects within the Automotive domain.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on experience in IMS DB/TM and IDMS development & maintenance
- Proven experience working in the Ford environment (current or past)
- Strong knowledge of COBOL, JCL, and Mainframe utilities
- Experience with debugging tools and performance tuning
- Solid understanding of SDLC methodologies and Agile practices
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Production support and incident resolution experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain applications using IMS DB/TM and IDMS
- Perform system analysis, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver quality solutions
- Provide production support and resolve incidents promptly
- Ensure compliance with Ford standards, security protocols, and guidelines
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation
Preferred Qualifications:
- Automotive industry experience is highly preferred
- Knowledge of Ford-specific applications and business processes
- Experience with migration, modernization, or integration projects
- Ability to work effectively with global teams across NA and AP regions
