Mercaz Academy, an Orthodox Jewish elementary school located in Plainview, Long Island, is seeking a Part-Time Music Teacher for the 2026-27 school year.

We are seeking a passionate, engaging, and dependable Part-Time Music Teacher to join our school community. The ideal candidate will inspire a love of music while providing students with meaningful, hands-on musical experiences in a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide instruction in at least one instrument, such as keyboard/piano (additional instruments are a plus).
- Foster students' musical skills, creativity, and appreciation for music.
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate lessons.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Collaborate with faculty and administrators to support student growth.
- Prepare students for school performances or special events, as appropriate.
- Maintain a positive, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.
Qualifications:
- Required: New York State Teaching Certification in Music or a Master's degree in Music or Music Education.
- Experience teaching elementary-aged students is preferred.
- Ability to teach keyboard/piano is highly desirable.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to fostering a positive learning environment.
Pay: From $75.00 per hour
