We are currently seeking a skilled and safety-focused Structural Welders experienced in Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) with 1/16” wire to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of structural steel welding and be able to read blueprints and work from weld symbols to assemble and weld heavy steel components to precise specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW) using 1/16" wire on structural steel in various positions (flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead).
- Interpret and work from shop drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
- Set up welding equipment and adjust wire feed speed, voltage, and gas flow rates as needed for specific welds.
- Ensure all welds meet company and industry standards, including visual and/or NDT inspection criteria.
- Use cutting torches, grinders, and other tools to prepare and finish weld joints.
- Maintain welding equipment and tools in good working condition.
- Work collaboratively with fitters, fabricators, and other welders to meet project deadlines.
- Follow all company safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE at all times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED preferred; vocational training or welding certification is a plus.
- Minimum [X] years of experience welding structural steel using FCAW with 1/16” wire.
- Ability to pass a weld test (1G–4G or 3G/4G combo) prior to employment.
- Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1 welding code standards.
- Comfortable working in both shop and field environments.
- Physically able to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various positions and environments.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing clean, strong, and safe welds.
- Certification in forklift, rigging, or overhead crane operation is a plus.
