Job Description:
Mi Hacienda Adult Day Care is seeking a dependable and compassionate Driver & Care Attendant to join our team on a full-time basis. This hybrid role includes safely transporting elderly and disabled clients to and from their homes and supporting them during the day with activities, meals, and general assistance inside the facility.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys both being on the road and engaging with seniors in a community-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Driver Duties:
- Drive clients to and from their homes using facility vehicles
- Assist clients entering and exiting the vehicle, including those using wheelchairs or walkers
- Secure assistive devices and ensure all safety procedures are followed
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any maintenance needs
- Follow established routes and timetables
Care Attendant Duties:
- Engage clients in recreational activities (e.g., bingo, arts and crafts, exercise)
- Assist in the kitchen with food prep, serving meals, and cleaning up
- Provide support to clients with mobility, restroom needs, or supervision
- Help sanitize tables, chairs, and common areas
- Monitor client well-being and report concerns to management
- Provide companionship and support with a patient and respectful attitude
Qualifications:
- Valid Texas Driver’s License (Class C)
- Clean driving record required
- Must pass background check
- Prior experience working with elderly or disabled individuals preferred
- Ability to assist with lifting, walking, and transferring clients
- Flexible to work both transportation and in-facility duties as needed
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus but not required
