Staffing description:
Medically fragile client (5months) with severe bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD), chronic oxygen dependence, and feeding difficulties. The client requires skilled nursing care in the home, including continuous oxygen at 1/8 L via nasal cannula, continuous pulse oximetry monitoring, respiratory assessments, medication administration, nebulizer treatments, suctioning, chest physiotherapy (CPT) as needed, and close monitoring for signs of respiratory distress. Nursing care also includes monitoring feeding tolerance, oral feedings (Enfacare 24 kcal/oz), tracking intake and output, frequent diaper changes, repositioning every two hours, rotating the pulse oximeter probe every two hours, and providing ongoing caregiver education.
The home is equipped with an oxygen concentrator, oxygen tanks and regulator, pulse oximeter, nebulizer/compressor, Fisher & Paykel humidification system, and all necessary respiratory equipment. Nurses assigned to this case should be comfortable caring for medically fragile infants, knowledgeable in oxygen management and respiratory monitoring, and able to recognize and promptly report changes in respiratory status. Primary areas of focus include maintaining respiratory stability, monitoring oxygen saturation, supporting adequate nutrition and growth, preventing infection, and reducing the risk of respiratory complications.

Pay: $34.00 - $47.00 per hour
