Westside Habilitation Center is seeking a motivated and dependable Housekeeping Technician to assist with deep cleaning and sanitation of our group homes. This position travels from home to home as assigned to complete detailed cleaning projects and help maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for the individuals we support.
Position Summary
The Housekeeping Technician is responsible for deep cleaning assigned group homes and common areas while following all environmental services and infection control standards. This position plays an important role in maintaining a healthy and therapeutic environment for clients and staff.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform deep cleaning of group homes and assigned areas on a rotating basis
- Clean, sanitize, and disinfect bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, living areas, offices, and common spaces
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash from assigned areas
- Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces and shared equipment
- Replenish disposable items and cleaning supplies as needed
- Maintain cleanliness standards in accordance with infection control guidelines
- Follow established departmental policies, procedures, and quality assurance measures
- Report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors
- Utilize approved techniques for management of aggressive client behavior to ensure the safety of both the client and self
- Practice professionalism and teamwork with clients, coworkers, and supervisors
- Fulfill position duties using value-based principles in relationships with clients/co-workers/others and practice stewardship of resources in order to strengthen Westside’s caring mission
- May be required to travel between multiple group homes during the workday
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or environmental services experience preferred, but not required
- Ability to work independently and stay organized
- Ability to follow infection control and sanitation procedures
- Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred
- Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform physical cleaning duties throughout the shift
