Training and Coverage
The selected candidate will train at our Mesa clinic for the first two weeks with our Medical Assistant Lead. After the initial training period, the Medical Assistant will transition to the Chandler clinic for continued hands-on training, getting comfortable with the Chandler clinic workflow, coworkers, providers, and daily patient flow.
This position is primarily based at the Chandler clinic, but occasional coverage at our Mesa clinic may be required for staffing support, training, or clinic needs.
Position Overview
We are looking for a dependable, organized, and patient-focused Certified Medical Assistant to support our providers and clinic team in an outpatient hormone therapy and wellness practice.
This role includes clinical support, rooming, chart preparation, injection-related workflows, patient communication, inventory support, medical task follow-up, and occasional front desk coverage.
Blood work is not part of the daily responsibilities for this Chandler position, but the Medical Assistant may assist with blood work-related workflows when filling in or covering for the phlebotomist.
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent patient service and compassionate care.
- Help create a welcoming, professional, and high-quality patient experience.
- Support daily clinic operations and patient flow.
- Prepare, clean, disinfect, reset, and restock exam rooms.
- Assist providers with patient preparation, procedures, and chart support.
- Complete chart preparation and documentation in the Electronic Medical Record.
- Administer or assist with injections within training, scope, and provider-approved protocol.
- Prepare syringes and injections according to approved clinic protocols.
- Assist with incoming medical calls and route patient questions appropriately.
- Communicate with patients, pharmacies, outside medical offices, and care-related contacts as assigned.
- Document patient calls, pharmacy calls, follow-up actions, and completed tasks accurately.
- Monitor and restock clinic supplies and inventory as assigned.
- Provide occasional front desk coverage, including greeting patients, answering phones, scheduling support, and patient communication.
- Assist with blood work-related workflows only when filling in or covering for the phlebotomist.
- Follow HIPAA, OSHA, infection control, and clinic safety standards.
- Escalate clinical questions, urgent symptoms, medication concerns, patient complaints, and unclear instructions appropriately.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant, Registered Medical Assistant, or equivalent Medical Assistant certification.
- Medical Assistant experience or relevant clinical support experience.
- Strong customer service and patient care skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Professional, dependable, and team-oriented.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work in a busy outpatient clinic setting.
- Comfortable using Electronic Medical Record systems.
- Ability to follow protocols and ask questions when unsure.
- Willing and able to train at the Mesa clinic for the first two weeks.
- Willing and able to occasionally cover at the Mesa clinic when needed.
- Willing and able to provide occasional front desk coverage when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician or phlebotomy certification.
- Phlebotomy, venipuncture, or blood work experience.
- Experience with injections or injection preparation.
- Experience with eClinicalWorks or other EMR systems.
- Experience in hormone therapy, wellness, med spa, primary care, endocrinology, internal medicine, family practice, or a similar clinical setting.
- Front desk, scheduling, or patient service experience.
- Bilingual ability is a plus.
