About the Position
WestWorks Learning Center is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide instructional support, case management, and collaboration services within a school setting. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with students, families, teachers, and related service providers to ensure students receive high-quality educational programming and support.
The ideal candidate is organized, student-centered, and knowledgeable in special education compliance, instructional accommodations, and individualized programming.
Responsibilities
- Provide push-in and pull-out instructional support for students receiving special education services
- Deliver content mastery and intervention support aligned with student needs
- Implement and monitor accommodations and modifications across educational settings
- Collaborate with general education teachers to support student success in the least restrictive environment
- Serve as a case manager for assigned students
- Schedule and facilitate Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) meetings
- Develop, review, and maintain Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Complete required documentation and ensure compliance with federal, state, and district requirements
- Monitor progress toward IEP goals and support progress reporting
- Participate in campus meetings, professional development, and collaborative planning activities
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Special Education Teaching Certification
- Bachelor's degree required
- Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, ARD procedures, and special education compliance
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Experience supporting inclusion, resource, or content mastery programs preferred
