We're looking for an experienced HVAC professional who is equally comfortable diagnosing complex service issues and performing complete system installations when needed.
This is primarily a service and repair position, but when installation opportunities arise, you'll have the chance to earn additional income through our performance-based installation pay program.
If you're the type of technician who enjoys troubleshooting one day and leading a full system replacement the next, you'll fit right in.
What You'll Do
Your primary responsibility will be diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential and light commercial HVAC systems while delivering an outstanding customer experience.
Responsibilities include:
- Diagnose and repair furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, boilers, rooftop units, ductless mini-splits, and related HVAC equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and seasonal tune-ups
- Explain repair options and educate customers
- Recommend repairs and system improvements when appropriate
- Complete service documentation, photos, and job reports
- Maintain a clean, organized company vehicle
- Follow all safety procedures and local code requirements
Installation Opportunities
When installation work is scheduled, you'll also:
- Install complete HVAC systems
- Fabricate and install ductwork and refrigerant piping
- Wire and commission equipment
- Perform startup procedures, evacuation, charging, and testing
- Mentor helpers and apprentices
- Ensure every installation meets Direct Improvements' quality standards
Installations are paid separately through our performance pay program, allowing top installers to significantly increase their earnings.
Qualifications
We're looking for someone who has:
- 5+ years of HVAC service experience
- Strong installation experience
- EPA Universal Certification (Required)
- Ability to diagnose electrical, refrigeration, airflow, gas heating, and boiler systems
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
- Excellent customer communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting abilities
- Leadership mindset and professionalism
