Responsibilities
- Safely operate your personal vehicle, including SUVs or box trucks, to deliver packages across designated routes while adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Load and unload packages with manual handling techniques, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe lifting practices.
- Use mobile devices to navigate routes efficiently, confirm deliveries, and communicate with dispatch teams.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering packages promptly and courteously, addressing recipient questions professionally.
- Manage the entire delivery process from route driving to manual handling of parcels, including heavy lifting when necessary.
- Maintain accurate delivery records and logs, ensuring all packages are accounted for during loading and unloading processes.
- Follow all safety protocols related to warehouse operations, material handling equipment operation, and load securing procedures.
Experience
- Previous delivery driver experience or courier roles demonstrating familiarity with route driving and package handling.
- Warehouse experience or working knowledge of warehouse operations is a plus.
- Experience operating manual transmission vehicles such as box trucks or similar commercial vehicles preferred.
- Knowledge of heavy lifting techniques and manual handling safety practices essential for managing various package sizes and weights.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations related to commercial driving and weight handling in the workplace is highly desirable.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via mobile devices during deliveries.
- Ability to adhere strictly to traffic laws, safety standards, and company policies while maintaining a professional attitude on the road.
