Position Overview
Object Fabrication is seeking a proactive, highly organized, and "unshakeable" Operation Manager to serve as the backbone of our core team. You will be the primary bridge between our permanent staff and our rotating roster of freelance specialists. You are the "glue" that ensures our shop has the supplies it needs, our fleet is moving, and our talent is scheduled efficiently. This is not a 9-to-5 desk job; it is a dynamic role that requires flexibility, a "get-it-done" attitude, and the ability to manage the logistics of a fast-paced fabrication environment.
Core Responsibilities
1. Executive Support & Management
- Direct Coordination: Act as the primary operational link between the shop and the Head of Production & Operations (pending hire) and the current Partners (August Hunt & Harper Hunt).
- Strategy Execution: Assist the Head of Production & Operations in implementing new company-wide systems and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Adaptive Project Management: Provide light project management support as needed—tracking milestones, coordinating with clients on load-in logistics, and ensuring the Core Full Time team is supported during peak production.
- Infrastructure Support: Build upon our existing operations (work process, technology, protocols, resource tracking) to allow us to take on larger scopes and higher volume of project.2. Talent & Scheduling Management
- Freelance Oversight: Manage the end-to-end process of hiring, onboarding, and scheduling freelancers for project-specific needs.
- Workflow Optimization: Maintain the master production calendar, ensuring the right people are in the shop at the right time.
- Light HR Support: Serve as the first point of contact for team needs, manage time-tracking, and ensure a positive, productive shop culture.3. Logistics & Inventory
- Shop Supply Management Support: Proactively track and maintain inventory of fabrication supplies. You ensure we never run out of the "essentials" mid-build.
- Equipment & Vehicle Rentals: Coordinate frequent rentals of specialized tools, machinery, and vehicles (vans/trucks) to meet project deadlines.
- Vendor Relations: Maintain and negotiate relationships with suppliers to ensure we get the best value and service.
4. Financial & Expense Management
- Expense Tracking: Oversee project-based spending, credit card reconciliations, and budget tracking.
- Strategic Spending: Identify opportunities for cost savings in shop operationsand procurement. The Ideal Candidate
- The "Glue": You are excellent at communication. You can speak "fabricator" language in the shop and "professional" language in the office.
- Proactive & Organized: You don’t wait for a problem to arise; you see the empty shelf or the scheduling conflict three days before it happens.
- Extreme Flexibility: You understand the nature of the industry. You are willing to work extended hours or occasional weekends to hit a project "load-in" or "strike" deadline.
- Resourceful: When a specific tool is sold out or a freelancer cancels, you find a solution without being told how.Why Object Fabrication? You will be one of the early, core members of our expanding company, to create a team that pushes the boundaries of experiential building. We value hard work, creative problem-solving, and the culture we’ve built. You will have a direct impact on the success of high-profile projects for the world’s leading brands and agencies.
