Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Teacher for our 2-year-old classroom. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and a strong background in developing engaging curriculum tailored to toddlers. The Lead Teacher will play a vital role in implementing educational standards, managing classroom activities, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all students. Prior experience with childhood development, classroom management, and specialized skills such as literacy education, behavior management are highly valued. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement age-appropriate curriculum that promotes cognitive, social, and emotional development in 2-year-olds
- Manage classroom environment to ensure safety, engagement, and positive behavior among children
- Supervise
- Foster strong communication with parents regarding children's progress, milestones, and any concerns
- Incorporate literacy education, math concepts, physical activities, and sensory play into daily routines
- Utilize behavior management techniques to promote positive social interactions and emotional regulation
- Ensure compliance with licensing regulations, health & safety standards, and childcare policies
- Engage in ongoing professional development related to childhood development, special education, early intervention, and innovative teaching strategies
Skills
- Extensive experience with children in early childhood settings, including toddler care and preschool environments
- Strong knowledge of childhood development theories and practices including Montessori methods and literacy education
- Proven classroom management skills with the ability to create structured yet flexible learning environments
- Experience developing curriculum tailored to individual needs, including special education or early intervention programs
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with parents, staff, and community partners
- Ability to plan lessons that incorporate standardized testing preparation when appropriate while fostering a love for learning
- Skills in behavior management techniques suitable for toddlers to promote positive social behaviors
- Familiarity with teaching physical education activities suitable for young children
- Knowledge of child welfare practices ensuring safety and emotional support for all students
