The ideal candidate is both an outstanding artist and a great team player. We need a candidate whose goal is to create award-winning work and teach others to do their best work and support them in doing so. Our artists work on a great variety of projects and must be flexible and versatile enough to move from character animation to product animation as needs arise. We are looking for someone who has experience across many of the disciplines involved in 3D animation and post-production, with the following qualifications:
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Generalist with working knowledge of all aspects of the animation pipeline, such as modeling, texturing, node-based material networks, rigging, animation, visual effects, rendering, compositing, and editing.
- Proficiency with Maya (2 years minimum)
- Expert Proficiency with Houdini (3 years minimum)
- Working knowledge of the Adobe creative suite such as After Effects, Premiere, Photoshop, etc.
- Strong fundamental understanding of 3D computer graphics and strong technical problem-solving skills. The ability to identify where and how a scene is breaking and coming up with a solution.
- Good aesthetic sensibilities and solid understanding of design fundamentals. Strong understanding of lighting principles, color theory and composition.
- Bachelor's degree and at least 2 years work experience or 4 years work experience in a production environment.
- SKILLS / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Must be very organized and detail oriented.
- Good time-management and able to work under tight deadlines
- Understands and can follow studio guidelines such as project folder structures and naming conventions.
- Understands best practices in a production pipeline and how their work affects the work of artists downstream.
- Can work collaboratively in a team, or independently as needed.
- Very strong creative and technical abilities
- Positive attitude and good interpersonal skillsNot required, but a plus:
- Proficiency with V-Ray
- Experience with dynamics simulations (explosions, fire, smoke, water, rigid-bodies, destruction)
- Working knowledge of Pixar USD (Universal Scene Description)
- Experience with procedural modeling
- Experience working with Motion Capture data
- Programming (C#, C++, Python)
- Medical animation experience
- 2D and Traditional animation skills
- Knowledge of applicable software including: Unity 3D, Substance Painter/Designer, Fusion, 3dsMax, Zbrush, Mari, Mudbox, Syntheyes, 3dEquilizerBENEFITS:
