Pay Rate:Up to $83/hrcombined (taxable hourly + tax-free allowances for travel, housing, meals). Rates may vary and are subject to change.

Position Summary

The VascularInterventionalRadiology RN provides specialized nursing care for patients undergoing minimallyinvasive image-guided procedures. The nurse works collaboratively withinterventionalradiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe, effective, and compassionate patient care before, during, and afterinterventional procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Assessment & Preparation

Conduct pre-procedure assessments, review patient history, allergies, medications, and lab results.

Educate patients and families about the procedure, sedation, recovery, and post-procedure expectations.

Ensureinformed consent is obtained and documented properly.

Prepare procedural equipment, supplies, and medications according to physician preference and protocol.

Intra-Procedure Responsibilities

Monitor and document patient vital signs, level of consciousness, and physiological responses during procedures.

Administer moderate sedation under physician supervision per protocol.

Maintainsterile technique andassisttheinterventional team withinstrumentation and patient positioning.

Respond promptly to emergencies and performappropriateinterventions(e.g., airway management, ACLS).

Post-Procedure Care

Provide recovery care,monitorfor complications such as bleeding, allergic reactions, or changesincondition.

Perform post-procedure assessments, remove vascular sheaths, and applyappropriate hemostasis.

Provide discharge teaching,including site care, activity restrictions, and follow-upinstructions.

Collaboration & Documentation

Communicate effectively with physicians, technologists, and other team members.

Document nursing care, medications, sedation, and patient responses accuratelyinthe EMR.

Participateinquality assurance, process improvement, and safetyinitiatives.

Qualifications

Education:Graduate of an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.

Licensure:Current Registered Nurse (RN) licenseinthe state of practice.

Certifications:

Basic Life Support (BLS)required.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)required.

Moderate sedation certification per hospital policy.

CCRN or CVRN preferred.

Experience

Minimum of 2 years of critical care, emergency, orinterventionalradiology nursing experience preferred.

Familiarity with conscious sedation, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile procedures strongly desired.

Skills & Abilities

Strong critical thinking and assessment skills.

Ability to work effectivelyina fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient education abilities.

Comfort with electronic medical records and procedural documentation systems.
