Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Welder specializing in Stick welding to join our dynamic fabrication team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing high-quality welding operations on various metal materials, ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and technical specifications. Your expertise will contribute to the successful completion of construction, manufacturing, and fabrication projects, supporting our commitment to excellence and precision. Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements and procedures.
- Perform Stick welding (Shielded Metal Arc Welding - SMAW) on diverse metal materials, including sheet metal and structural components, following AWS standards.
- Use measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and shop math to ensure precise dimensions and fit-up before welding.
- Operate power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to prepare materials for welding.
- Conduct quality inspections using measuring instruments like FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), MIG (Metal Inert Gas) welding, TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas) welding, and gas metal arc welding techniques to ensure weld integrity.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols, including rigging, pipe threading, ductwork assembly, and forklift operation when handling heavy materials.
- Support fabrication shop activities by assembling components according to mechanical blueprints and schematics while maintaining a safe work environment.
Skills
- Extensive construction site experience with a solid understanding of safety protocols.
- Proficiency in multiple welding techniques including SMAW (Stick), MIG, TIG, FCAW, and gas metal arc welding.
- Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
- Familiarity with sheet metal fabrication processes and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Experience with rigging, pipe threading, plasma cutting, press brake operation, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards as well as AWS standards for quality assurance in welding practices.
