ABOUT CHRIS MARVEL SPEAKS
Chris Marvel is a performance strategist and keynote speaker. He works with organizations, schools, and universities to solve disengagement, burnout, and inconsistent performance by teaching people how to think, regulate, and execute under pressure.
Most speakers inspire temporarily. Chris installs systems, changes behavior, and drives performance outcomes. That difference is the whole pitch, and it is the reason the rooms he speaks in keep asking him back.
His signature keynotes are The Art Of Losing, Pressure Is a Privilege, The Invisible Injury, and The What If Effect. He holds a Master's in Psychology, is the author of The What If Effect, and has done individual mental performance work with active and former NFL and NBA players. Organizations he has worked with include Johnson & Johnson, Cleveland Metropolitan School District, Clark County Schools, Head Start, and CUNY.
He is booked and busy. He is not booked and busy enough. That is the job.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Booking Agent to fill the speaking calendar.
You are the person who finds the stage, gets to the person who owns it, and gets Chris on it. You will work conferences, associations, school districts, universities, corporate events, and speaker bureaus. You will not be handed a phone book and told good luck. The target list is already built and researched.
WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY DO
- Work a researched list of associations, conferences, districts, campuses, and corporate event organizers.
- Find the person who actually books keynotes. That is usually a conference chair, an executive director, a director of professional learning, or an events lead, and it is almost never the person listed on the contact page.
- Reach out by email and phone. Most of this work lives in the third and fourth touch, not the first.
- Track and hit call-for-speaker and proposal deadlines. Many of these open and close on a fixed annual calendar and missing one costs a full year.
- Submit speaker proposals using our materials and templates.
- Build relationships with speaker bureaus and get Chris onto their rosters.
- Book the date. Confirm the details. Hand off a clean calendar entry with everything Chris needs to show up and deliver.
- Log every touch so we both know what is actually working.
WHO THIS IS FOR
You have booked people before, or you have been the person on the other side of the table doing the booking. That could look like:
- Event or conference programming experience, where you were the one selecting and scheduling speakers.
- Talent, entertainment, or speaker bureau booking experience.
- Association or membership organization work, where you know how annual conference programming really gets decided.
- School district or higher education experience, where you understand professional development calendars and how a keynote actually gets approved.
- Straight outbound sales experience, if you can prove you can get to hard-to-reach people.
WHAT MATTERS MOST
- You can get a busy principal or executive on the phone and sound like a peer, not a solicitor.
- You are organized enough to run a deadline calendar without being reminded.
- You follow up when it is uncomfortable. Most bookings die in the silence after the second email, and this role is largely about not letting that happen.
- You can write a clean, short, professional email that a conference chair will actually read.
- You are self-directed. Nobody is going to watch your calendar for you.
WHAT WE PROVIDE
- A researched target list of associations, conferences, districts, and bureaus with real contacts and real deadlines.
- Email templates, proposal language, speaker one-sheet, and bio materials.
- A live onboarding session with Chris so you can speak about the work with authority.
- Weekly check-ins during your first month.

Pay: $60,500.00 - $80,800.00 per year
